![]() ![]() This is still a pretty solid start though, if they followed the D3 formula and pretty much move the legendary aspects onto the skill tree, I think it’ll only feel better in the short term at the expense of shitting on an already thin itemization system. They just need to make sure that each abilities in this game has at least 2-3 of this type of gameplay defining legendary aspects.Ĭurrently, too many of the legendary aspects are passive driven so it’s hard to actually feel the effects. This is great, because it changes the way you need to position yourself and alters gameplay. ![]() Take the Rogue skill TB for example, it has one legendary aspect that not only increases its damage, but also make the returning blade spin around you a few times. ![]() Currently we don’t have enough legendary aspects and uniques that pushes the boundary of that skill tree. But in terms of the number of different builds that were possible (not saying ideal), I think D3 blows D4 out of the water.ĭiablo 4 has the intention to shift some of those features onto items and legendary aspects, which I believe is a much better system when executed well. I know the D3 leveling experience wasn't great for feeling ownership of the character. One of those will go to a "key passive", and for a lot of builds the remaining passives tend to be pretty obvious - For example, no point in taking Druid Storm passives if you aren't running those skills. something? But maxing out all 6 primary skills you're using takes 42 points, leaving 16 points for passives. I know in D4 you get to choose how many points you have invested in the baseline skill, which is. D4, you get one "main" node and a choice between two "specialization" nodes (except ults, which only have two nodes). But in D3, each of those skills had 6 runes that could affect their operation, sometimes in substantial ways. Take Barb for example - in both D3 and D4, they have 23 active skills. I may be in the minority on this, but I honestly think the Diablo 3 skill system allows for more diversity than the half-hearted skill trees we got here.
